Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, outgoing, and organized Host / Hostess to be the welcoming face of our marina restaurant for the season. As the first and last point of contact, you will set the vibe for our guests' dining experience. In addition to greeting and seating guests, you will also handle take-out orders, giving you a fantastic opportunity to earn extra cash in tips!

Key Responsibilities

  • Warm Welcomes: Greet guests with a smile as they arrive from the land or the lake, manage our waitlist, and seat tables efficiently.

  • Take-Out & Tech: Answer phone calls, accurately input take-out orders using our Toast Tab POS system, package orders properly, and handle payments (and collect those take-out tips!).

  • Front-of-House Maintenance: Keep the host stand, entryway, and menus clean, sanitized, and organized.

  • Teamwork: Communicate effectively with servers and management to ensure a smooth flow of service during busy lunch and dinner rushes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Must be 18 years of age or older (due to legal requirements regarding the proximity to alcohol service in our bar environment).

  • Exceptional communication skills and a naturally positive, helpful attitude.

  • Ability to stay calm, cool, and collected during busy weekend lake rushes.

  • Familiarity with Toast Tab or similar restaurant POS software is a major plus, but we are happy to train the right person.

  • Reliable transportation to our Lay Lake location.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for the duration of a 9-hour shift.

  • Ability to safely lift or move objects up to 15 lbs (such as highchairs or heavy trays of take-out containers).

  • Comfortable working in a bustling, high-volume environment with indoor and outdoor transition areas.
